Talked to the old guy at Frontier Restaurant and it hit different

I was grabbing breakfast burritos last Saturday morning at Frontier on Central. Some older guy next to me started talking about how he used to ride the bus from the South Valley to high school downtown back in the 60s. He said Albuquerque felt smaller back then, like everyone knew each other's names at the diners and grocery stores. It got me thinking about how much faster everything moves now and if that's really better. Anyone else feel like the city lost some of that old neighborhood feel?

lol "hit different" is a vibe tho fr. that old guy probably watched this city go from a chill little town to whatever tf it is now with all the traffic and gentrification. frontier is still good but you gotta admit even that spot got bougier over the years. i went last week and my burrito was like $12 now, feelsbadman. the 60s probably were slower but also like, no internet and no cell phones, so people had no choice but to talk to each other. now we all just stare at our phones in line at frontier like zombies.
