The crosswalk timer on Central and Rio Grande is set too fast

I was walking my dog across Central near the Nob Hill area last Tuesday and the countdown went from 15 to empty before I even hit the middle lane, so now I just cross on the red and play chicken with the buses instead.

Had a friend almost get smoked trying to cross there last month with her kid in a stroller. She said the timer gave her eight seconds and it dropped to zero before she even hit the median strip. Now she just walks all the way up to the light at Lead to cross instead.
