PSA: The anime section at my local library in Springfield is full of the same mainstream stuff

I checked out 30 titles and 28 were just the big battle shonen everyone already talks about. Where are the hidden gems or older series for actual discussions?

Hidden gems and older series" don't just show up. You have to request them. Go to the library website, find the purchase suggestion form, and start putting in titles. I got my branch to order "Monster" and "Planetes" that way. It takes a few months, but it's the only thing that works.

Totally, my library got "Nana" after I asked like three times. It's slow but worth it.
