That one comment about pacing in anime really got to me
A guy on a forum told me I was skipping the slow episodes in Steins;Gate and missing the whole point of the build-up. So I went back and watched all 24 episodes without skipping a single second, and yeah, the payoff hit way harder. Has anyone else had their viewing habits completely flipped by a random internet stranger?

That slow burn concept applies to a lot more than just anime honestly. People always want instant gratification nowadays with shows, games, even relationships and miss out on the deeper payoff. Ever notice how the best memories come from things you actually stuck with through the boring parts?

Wait, did you really watch all 24 episodes without skipping? That's some serious dedication. @andrew778 is dead on with that slow burn thing. I used to be the worst about skipping through the slow parts in shows, especially older anime where the pacing feels like molasses. But after a friend called me out for missing the whole point, I forced myself to sit through all of Evangelion without hitting that skip button. The payoff at the end wouldn't have meant anything without the boring build-up, and now I get why people say the journey matters more than the destination. That one comment really flipped a switch in my brain.
