Why does nobody talk about rewatching dubs with subs on?
I used to think it was pointless, but last month I put the English dub on with Japanese subtitles for a rewatch of a 12 episode series, and it completely flipped how I caught details. The translation differences are wild, plus you train reading speed without missing the action. Has anyone else tried mixing audio and subtitle languages like that?

Hold on, you actually read subs while the dub is playing? That sounds like a nightmare, my brain would short-circuit trying to process both at once. But I gotta admit, catching the translation differences sounds kinda genius, especially for a show with tricky dialogue. Now I'm curious to try it on my next rewatch, just to see how much the dub changes the meaning.
