My bokashi bin nearly ruined my kitchen last week
I was doing the whole bokashi thing for 3 months in my tiny studio in Austin and thought I had it down, but I forgot to drain the liquid for 4 days straight. The smell when I finally opened the spigot was this rotten sweet stink that hung around for hours no matter how much I aired the place out. Anyone have a trick for remembering to drain on a set schedule without relying on phone alarms that I just ignore?

Yo what's the deal with phone alarms just becoming background noise after day two? I swear my brain treats them like a weird bird chirping outside and just tunes them out completely. Maybe try putting a sticky note on your coffee mug so you see it before you're fully awake and just ignore it like everything else.

Tbh putting the bin right near the coffee maker saved me from this exact nightmare.

Moving that coffee machine closer to the sink was the only thing that stopped me from spilling grounds everywhere too. I never realized how much of a difference a few steps makes when you're half awake and just trying to function. It's such a small change but it really does save you from that morning mess.
