My maple's crown fill came through after a slow season

I pruned this old maple last fall to help it with a bare spot up top. All winter I checked on it, kinda sure I messed up the cuts. But this spring, new growth filled in the gaps better than I hoped. It just took time and a bit of faith in the tree.

Reading about your 'bit of faith in the tree' has me rolling my eyes. It's a TREE, it's going to grow if you cut it right. This isn't some deep lesson, it's just how plants work. You probably didn't mess up the cuts as bad as you thought. Everyone gets so emotional over gardening sometimes, but it's really NOT that serious.

People put time and care into their gardens, it's more than just plants. That tree might mean something to them you don't know about. Calling it "not that serious" misses the point completely.

Okay but @ryanpatel, plants do grow but people get attached. It's not just about the cut, it's about caring for something. Maybe it is a little serious to them, you know?
