Appreciation post: My cousin's question about tipping at a food truck in Portland last week got me thinking.
He argued it's just counter service, but I said the cook is right there making your food fresh. What's your take on tipping at places like that?

Yeah the "cook is right there" thing is real. My buddy got a burrito at a truck last month and watched the guy hand press the tortilla, grill the meat fresh, the whole deal. He said not tipping after that show felt like stealing, lol. Ended up leaving a few bucks even though he never tips at like, a Subway. It just hits different when you see the work.

Totally get that, seeing the skill up close makes you appreciate the cost more than just a price tag.
