I finally checked my property taxes after 3 years

Lived in my house in Marietta since 2021 and never looked past the first page of my tax bill. Last week I actually read through the county assessor's website and found out my homestead exemption was never applied. Turns out I missed a form I had to sign at closing back in '21. Overpaid about $1,200 total across those three years. Has anyone else caught a mistake like this on their property records?

Actually the homestead exemption doesn't require anything signed at closing, you just file it with the county directly.

Wait, so I just let my realtor convince me signing a "bonus" document was mandatory for no reason? lol
