Pro tip: I changed how I clean throttle bodies after a messy job in Cincinnati

I used to just spray cleaner directly into the bore and wipe it out, which left a huge mess of black gunk on the shop floor. After a particularly bad one on a 2005 Civic last fall, I started putting a clean shop rag underneath the throttle body opening before spraying. The rag catches all the runoff, so you just ball it up and toss it. It saves about 15 minutes of cleanup time per car. Anyone have a better trick for keeping the intake area clean during this job?

Wait, a 2005 Civic did that?

Yeah, I used to think the same thing as @leerobinson about older Civics. Then I saw a clean 2005 EX with a manual transmission actually keep up with some newer stuff on a back road. The suspension was just sorted, and that K-series engine is way stronger than people remember.
