Had to pick between a used Tektronix scope and a new Rigol last Tuesday at the shop

Went with the Tektronix because an old coworker swore by them, and it paid off when I traced a glitchy altimeter signal in under 10 minutes. Anyone else stick with older gear over new stuff for reliability?

Did you ever get that weird feeling when old gear just feels better in your hands? I grabbed a used HP counter last year and it's been a tank. Sure it's heavy and warm but it just works every time. The new digital stuff always has some menu I can't find.

@anna983 yeah the "just works every time" part is key. Old HP stuff is built like a brick and you never have to fight with menus. New digital gear feels like it's working against you sometimes.
