Spent $80 on a 'predator proof' coop door that failed in two weeks

I bought this automatic door from a company called CoopGuard, thinking it would keep my girls safe overnight. A raccoon figured out how to pry the plastic latch open and got one of my Buff Orpingtons. I'm out the money and a chicken. What automatic doors have actually held up for you guys against determined raccoons?

My neighbor swears by the Run Chicken brand doors after a similar raccoon problem. He said the metal latch is way tougher than plastic ones. Might be worth looking into for a real fix.

Yeah, the metal latch is key... had a raccoon snap a plastic one clean off. Ended up putting a carabiner clip through the latch at night as a cheap extra lock. Works like a charm and they gave up after a week.

That carabiner trick is genius, lol.
