I thought my bank's new 'fraud alert' text was a scam
Got a text last Tuesday saying a $1,200 charge was made in Miami, which I knew I didn't do. The message looked fake and asked me to reply 'YES' to confirm it was fraud. I was sure it was a phishing attempt, so I called my bank's number from their website instead. The agent confirmed the text was real and that the charge was indeed blocked. I felt pretty silly for doubting their system, but the fake-looking format really threw me off. Has anyone else gotten a fraud alert that seemed so sketchy you almost ignored it?

Guess they hired a scammer to write their alerts.

Seriously though @ivan539, what tipped you off? Was it the weird grammar or the urgent "act now" pressure? Some of these alerts read exactly like those fake virus pop-ups. It makes you wonder who is in charge of their messaging. That kind of sloppy writing really hurts their trust.
