The ATM at my local bodega straight up asked for a $3.50 fee just to check my balance
Walked into the corner store on 7th Ave yesterday to grab cash for a slice, and the machine wanted to charge me nearly $4 just to see how much I had. I get the convenience markup in NYC, but that's more than the pizza itself.

@mason_foster68 you ain't wrong, that's basically a mugging with a digital readout. Last week I hit the ATM at my local laundromat and it wanted to charge me $4.50 just to see if I had $20. My bank account balance was so EMBARRASSINGLY low I paid the fee just to confirm I was broke. Really added insult to injury, you know?
