Swapped my barber shears after 8 years and can't believe the difference
Used the same pair of Mizutani shears since barber school. Thought they were fine, just needed sharpening every few months. Last month I dropped them and chipped a blade pretty bad. Picked up a new pair from a shop in Denver for $250. First cut with them felt like switching from a rusty butter knife to a scalpel. How often do you guys replace your main shears?

And it's funny how that works with all kinds of tools, not just shears. People get used to something being just okay and forget what good actually feels like until they try something new. Makes you wonder what else you've been settling for without realizing it.

honestly i think you were probably fine with the old ones. 250 bucks is a lot for a tool you already had working. you just got used to the new feel, give it a month and itll feel normal again too.
