Vent: Why does every new barber keep using way too much product?
I was at the shop on Broad Street in Philly last Saturday and watched a kid dump half a jar of clay onto a comb for a simple fade. Dude, you don't need that much hold for a crop top, now the guy's hair looks greasy by noon. It drives me nuts because it wastes money and makes the cut look messy. Anyone else notice apprentices going overboard with pomade or clay?

Three years working construction, and I see the same thing with caulk guns on site. @blairj55 watched a kid treat a bead of sealant like he was icing a cake last month. Same mindset as those barbers, probably thinks if a little is good then a whole tube must be better. Ends up with a messy cleanup and wasted materials every time.

Wait, half a jar of clay for a crop top? That's insane. I saw a kid at my spot in Fishtown last week use like four pumps of matte paste on a guy who just wanted a textured fringe. By 2pm the hair was just sitting there like a wet dishrag. It's like they think more product equals more hold but really it just makes the hair look like it's been dipped in wax. I swear these new guys watch one YouTube video and think the whole jar is a single serving.
