An old timer told me to stop greasing pedal threads after I complained about creaking cranks.
He handed me a used pedal spindle and showed me how grease just makes them loosen up over time, so now I use a dab of blue Loctite instead on every new build, has anyone else switched away from grease on pedal threads?

Loctite fixed my creak issue too, and I haven't had a pedal come loose since switching over. Grease just makes them work themselves out, learned that the hard way on a group ride once.

Yeah, grease on pedals is a trap, Loctite is the right move for sure.

Had a buddy use grease on his pedal threads once. Ended up walking home after it backed off on a downhill.
