Just hit 10,000 miles on my shop's repair stand... and the bearings are still original

Pulled an old touring bike into the stand yesterday and noticed the odometer on my Park Tool stand has rolled past 10,000 miles of bikes worked on (I track it for fun, I know). That means I've clamped up everything from rusty beach cruisers to carbon race rigs over the last 4 years here in Austin. The weird part is the twist-lock collar finally started slipping last week after all that abuse, but the main bearings are still smooth as butter. I've never greased them once, which feels like a miracle. Anyone else hit a weird milestone with their shop gear that held up way longer than expected?

Wait, you've never greased the bearings in 10,000 miles? That seems impossible. I've had Park stands fail way earlier than that on just basic maintenance. You got lucky with that one for sure.

Man I ran a shop stand for almost 15,000 miles before the bearings finally gave out, never touched them once. Just pure luck or maybe the older ones were built tougher.
