Found a 20 dollar bill in my coat from last winter and bought the wrong thing with it

So I pulled on my old winter coat this morning here in Buffalo, it's finally cold enough again, and I found a crumpled 20 dollar bill in the pocket. I got all excited like I won a mini lottery, you know? I walked down to the corner deli to treat myself, and I was gonna get a nice roast beef sandwich and maybe some chips. But then I saw they had this fancy jar of pickled eggs, and I thought hey, that's different and kinda cool. I bought the eggs plus a cheap hot dog, spent the whole 20. Got home, opened the jar, and they tasted like straight vinegar and sadness. I sat there eating a hot dog and regretting every choice that led me to that moment. Has anyone else blown a surprise find on something that looked way better than it actually was?

Wait, pickled eggs? I mean, I've seen those weird jars at like gas stations and stuff but who actually buys them? That's a wild swing to take with a surprise 20 bucks, man. I would have just stuck with the roast beef sandwich and counted it as a win.

You're calling pickled eggs a wild swing, but that's missing the beauty of "weird jars at gas stations" (your words, man). I've bought those eggs and honestly, they're a godsend on a road trip when you're sick of fast food. They're tangy, they're filling, and they last forever in the fridge (unlike a roast beef sandwich that gets soggy in ten minutes). Plus, a jar of eggs is like a party pack for one, and you can snack on them for a week. A $20 bill dropping into your life is the perfect excuse to try something weird, not just play it safe with a boring sandwich.
