Spent 2 full weekends trying to finish Ozark and kept getting sidetracked

I was dead set on binging Ozark last month, but I kept pausing to look up the locations and how they filmed those dark scenes. Then I got stuck on a Wikipedia rabbit hole about the Cartel for like 3 hours. It took me 8 days to get through 4 seasons when I planned on finishing in a weekend. Has anyone else had a show that kept pulling you into internet deep dives instead of actually watching?

The part about the Cartel rabbit hole hit way too close to home for me." I did the exact same thing with Narcos, kept stopping to read about the real Medellin cartel and ended up watching like 5 documentaries about Pablo Escobar before I even finished season 2. "Wikipedia deep dives are way too good at pulling you away from what you're actually trying to watch.

Honestly the trick I learned is to keep a tab open for rabbit holes while you're watching. I do this thing now where instead of pausing the show I just type a quick note to myself like "look up Escobar's death later" and force myself to finish the episode. It's saved me so many times with shows like The Crown where I'd stop every 10 minutes to read about whatever royal drama was happening. The key is not letting yourself click away until the credits roll. Saved my sanity during the last season of Ozark honestly.
