Blew a hole in my forge floor last week at a demo in Springfield

Was doing a demo at the county fairgrounds and used too much flux on a weld, ate right through the refractory. Anyone else manage to ruin their forge floor in a dumb way?

Blew a hole" reminds me of the time I accidentally torched a hole in my garage floor with a grinder.

My neighbor's garage still has a black scar from when I tried welding and damn near caught the whole place on fire. @juliahall you're lucky it was just a grinder and not a full on construction project gone wrong. I think sparks are nature's way of reminding us to keep a fire extinguisher handy.
