My copy of Twilight Imperium just gave up the ghost

So last night, I'm setting up for our monthly game night, right? Pull out the Twilight Imperium box, the one I've had since 2017. I go to lift the lid and the whole thing just... splits. The bottom seam on the box tore clean across, like it was made of wet paper. All the plastic trays inside just dropped out and scattered pieces everywhere. I spent the next 45 minutes just sorting plastic ships and cardboard tokens from six different factions. The worst part was finding a tiny yellow fighter token under the couch that I know belongs to the Hacan. It totally killed the vibe before we even started. Has anyone else had a big box game just disintegrate on them? What did you do, just get a new box or try to fix it?

You said it "killed the vibe"... but honestly, that sorting mess sounds like part of the ritual. Finding that last piece is a weirdly satisfying win before the real game even starts. I'd just tape the box up and call it a story.

Ever hear about my friend who found a Monopoly piece in her couch like a year later? She was vacuuming and it just rolled out, that stupid little dog. She texted me a pic like "look what @rileyl98's ritual just coughed up." Felt like the game was finally over, you know?
