Overheard a guy at the nursery say native plants look messy

He was picking out these fancy hybrid flowers and talking trash about goldenrod. I just stood there thinking, dude your manicured lawn is a desert for bugs.

Honestly my neighbor freaked out when I planted echinacea instead of petunias and now her yard has zero bees while mine is buzzing constantly. Guess which one actually looks alive.

Did you see his face when you told him that? I once had a neighbor yell at me for letting "weeds" grow in my yard, lol. Three hours later I watched a monarch caterpillar munching on my milkweed and felt like a total winner.
