Appreciation post: That old timer at the paint booth who yelled at me about sanding

Let the grit do the cutting" is something I repeated to myself for like a month after hearing it lol. I used to sand so hard it looked like I was trying to beat the panel into submission. My arms would be burning and the paper would be shot in like two passes. Now I mostly just let the block do the work with slow, even strokes. It feels way less like a workout and more like I'm actually helping the paint, you know?

That one Tuesday where everything went wrong on a Ford F-150 in Wichita

400 bucks extra for hidden rust on an aluminum bed? That's wild. I've seen rust on steel trucks before but aluminum shouldn't be rotting like that unless water was trapped for years under the cap. Sounds like a real nightmare of a job.

Why does nobody talk about phishing tests that backfire on your own team

Maybe it's just me but aren't phishing tests supposed to be obvious so you learn?

That $20 garlic press I bought broke after three uses

Bro come on lol. You're really out here pressed about a garlic press? Pun intended. Honestly though $20 for a garlic press is rookie numbers, you gotta spend at least $40 if you want it to survive more than three cloves. But also maybe check your garlic squeezing technique, could be a user error situation.

Heard a master bookbinder say PVA glue is killing our spines at the Philly meetup last Sunday

My PVA spines are holding up fine so far but then again most of my books haven't survived past my toddler getting hold of them.
