My cheap rice cooker gave up mid dinner prep last night

I was about to throw a bag of frozen veggies and some rice together for a $3 meal when the cooker just stopped heating. The little switch on the bottom felt loose before but I ignored it. Had to finish the rice in a pot on the stove which took way longer and I nearly burned it. Anyone else had a budget appliance fail at the worst time?

Those little switches on the bottom ALWAYS break. Replacements are cheap on Amazon.

Yeah mine died about 3 weeks into using the thing. I was so annoyed I almost threw it out. But yeah I grabbed a pack of 10 off Amazon for like 8 bucks and they're honestly way better quality than the originals. Just unscrew the back panel, pop the old one out, and push the new one in. Took me less time than finding the screwdriver honestly. Wish I had just done that from the start instead of fighting with it for an hour.
