My roommate kept buying those pre-chopped veggie bags for $4 each

I showed her how to get a whole week's worth of peppers and onions for that price by just cutting them herself on Sunday. Anyone have other simple prep tricks that save a ton?

Yeah, that "sad, watery mess" line is so real. I've totally been there with frozen peppers.

Actually, that pre-chopped price is often way higher than $4 where I live, more like six or seven bucks. The real win is buying the big bags of frozen peppers and onions. They're already chopped, cost next to nothing, and you just scoop out what you need. No Sunday prep and no waste.

Frozen peppers turn into a sad, watery mess in a pan though. They steam instead of getting that nice char from fresh. Texture is everything in a fajita or stir fry. That bag might be cheap, but you're paying for it with soggy vegetables every single time.
