Spent $15 on a giant bag of dried beans and it changed my whole week

I was at the store last Tuesday and grabbed a 5-pound bag of pinto beans for about fifteen bucks. I soaked them overnight and cooked a huge pot the next day. I've made bean soup, burrito bowls, and even a bean spread for toast. Honestly, it's the cheapest and most filling thing I've cooked in months. What other cheap staples do you guys always keep on hand?

Rice is my go-to, a big bag costs nothing and you can add it to anything. Lentils are also clutch for quick soups and they cook way faster than beans. Stock up on both and you'll never have an empty stomach.

Potatoes are the real budget hero, they last forever in a cool dark spot. A little oil and salt turns them into a full meal. I do roasted potato cubes with garlic powder over rice when I'm really stretching things.

Ever try adding potatoes to stretch meals? I keep a bag of russets around because they're cheap and you can roast, mash, or fry them to go with anything, even @diana_black22's rice and lentils. Makes a huge difference when you're trying to keep costs down.
