TIL frozen veggies in bulk beat fresh for budget meals
I always thought frozen vegetables were just sad and watery. But I gave them a real shot about 3 weeks ago when my local Aldi had 2lb bags of broccoli for $2.50. They actually taste fine if you roast them from frozen with some oil and salt. I made a stir fry last night with frozen peppers and onions that cost maybe $3 total. Now I'm buying the big 5lb bags of mixed veggies for $4. It's not fancy but it gets the job done and my grocery bill dropped by like 30 bucks this month. Anyone else find frozen stuff that surprised them?

Peak season frozen fruit is smarter than fresh for smoothies.

Have you tried the frozen cauliflower rice yet? It's like $1.50 a bag and I use it in stir fries or as a low carb base for curry, actually saves me money on rice too.
