I finally gave up on booking flights on Tuesdays

I read that tip for years, but my credit card's travel portal showed me I was paying about $50 more on average by waiting. The real deals pop up when you're flexible on airports, not days. What's the one travel 'rule' you've found is actually wrong?

Yeah, "flexible on airports" is the real trick.

That "book on Tuesday" rule has been gospel for like a decade.

My old boss swore by booking hotels at the last minute for deep discounts. Tried it in Chicago once and ended up paying 40% more for a room above a karaoke bar. The only real rule is that algorithms want your money and they don't care what day it is.
