Just had to choose between a $45 airport shuttle or a 2-hour bus and train combo to get to my hostel in Lisbon.

Went with the bus and train to save the cash. It was pouring rain, I was dragging my suitcase up and down stairs at the metro station, and I got totally lost for twenty minutes trying to find the right bus stop. Felt like a huge mistake in the moment. Anyone have a smoother, still-cheap method for that airport transfer?

Check the metro map next time, the red line goes straight from the airport to downtown.

Actually the red line stops at the airport, but you need to transfer to the blue line to get downtown. The transfer is at the Jackson station, it's pretty easy.

Wait so the red line goes to the airport but you have to switch to the blue line to actually get downtown? That makes no sense to me. Why would they build a line that goes to the airport but then doesn't take you where everyone actually needs to go lol
