PSA: Buying meals at foreign supermarkets is a game changer
Was in Italy last spring. Restaurant prices were killing my wallet. Then I started grabbing premade pasta and salads from the grocery. Ate well for under five euros a day.

Absolutely grab the local staples they sell ready-made... like a slice of pizza al taglio in Rome or a tortilla de patatas in Spain. It’s the same food without the restaurant markup and you get to eat like a local. Saves so much cash for actual experiences.

Exactly, that markup buys you the seat and the vibe. But if you're just after the food, grab it to go and eat on a park bench.
