Just found my old spreadsheet from my first apartment in 2018

Back then I was tracking every coffee, now my budget just has a 'fun money' line for the month. Anyone else feel like their system got way simpler over time?

My friend used to track every single Uber ride, but now he just has a "getting around" line like @robert94 said. Guess we all get tired of counting pennies.

Oh man, that hits home. My first budget tracked every single grocery item, like a can of beans had its own line. These days, my system is basically just checking if my account looks okay before I buy something dumb. I guess I traded control for not wanting to pull my hair out over a three dollar coffee. It got simple because I got tired.
