Picked the $60 slow cooker over the $200 Instant Pot and honestly not sure I made the right call
So about 4 months ago my old crockpot finally died and I stood in Target for like 20 minutes holding a $60 basic slow cooker in one hand and a $200 Instant Pot in the other. I went with the cheap one because I mostly just do chili and pulled pork on Sundays and couldn't justify spending 3x the money. It's been fine I guess but now I keep seeing people at work talk about doing rice and yogurt and all this other stuff in theirs. My sister in Columbus has the fancy one and she swears she uses it 4 times a week. Part of me feels like I cheaped out and missed out on something. Anyone here made the switch from a basic slow cooker to a pressure cooker and was it actually worth the extra $140?
Man my buddy did the exact thing you did, got the cheap one in March and then his wife bought the Instant Pot in like July anyway. Now the slow cooker sits in the garage on a shelf with the bread maker and the air fryer they used twice. He says the yogurt thing is real though, they make it every week and his kids eat it with honey, but the chili still goes in the old one because he swears the meat comes out better. So you didn't really miss much unless you're big on rice and yogurt.
