Ran into my old landlord at the laundromat and he showed me his spreadsheet

I was folding clothes at the Spin Cycle on 14th last Saturday and saw Mr. Henderson from my old apartment. He saw me tossing quarters into the machine and laughed, said he hasn't used cash for laundry in 2 years. He pulled out his phone and showed me this Google Sheet he made tracking every single utility and subscription cost down to the penny. He saved $40 a month just by switching to a different water heater schedule. Has anyone else found a weird little bill that they never questioned but could actually cut?

Mr. Henderson's spreadsheet tracks $40 a month savings but honestly that's nothing compared to the $200 I lost on a bad crypto exchange because I was too busy checking my water heater schedule. Ngl, if someone is that detailed about their bills they probably stress over every dollar and miss bigger opportunities for actually growing money. Tbh, saving $40 a month is great but I'd rather just pay my bills and not spend hours staring at spreadsheets.

Wait, is staring at spreadsheets really that bad though? I used to think being super detailed about bills was just stress and wasted time, but after losing track of a few payments myself I get why someone would want that control.
