Had a primal slip off the hook in front of a customer last Saturday

I was breaking down a half beef at the shop in Omaha and the hindquarter just slid right off the gambrel, landed on the floor with a thud. Customer watched the whole thing, laughed, and said 'guess that's why you don't work in an office'. How do you guys keep your gambrel hooks from losing grip on heavy primals?

A half beef hitting the floor right in front of a customer sounds like a complete nightmare dude.

Reminds me of the time I was unloading a split unit off my truck and the straps snapped. Thing hit the driveway like a bomb went off. Customer was standing right there watching me, coffee in hand. Dead silent for like ten seconds. Then he just goes "well, I guess that's why you have insurance, right?" Had to laugh. Sometimes all you can do is clean up the mess and move on.

Yep, had a deer slide off the tailgate once and roll right under a cop car.
