PSA: My walk-in cooler dropped 8 degrees overnight and I caught it too late

I had a slow leak in my coolant line that I ignored for about 2 weeks. Lost a whole batch of pork shoulders from a local farm near Kingston, NY because the temp crept up to 44 degrees. Check your lines and seals every month or you'll be tossing hundreds of dollars worth of meat like I did. Anyone else had a cooler fail on them during a busy season?

I used to think those coolers were pretty much indestructible, like you could run one over with a truck and it'd be fine. But hearing about someone losing an entire season's catch because the latch gave out makes you see it different. Now I check mine twice before I head out, and I'm thinking about getting a backup strap just in case.
