Spent 3 hours trying to fish line through an old wall
I was at a house built in the 70s over near Maplewood. The ceiling was some kind of acoustic tile with plaster behind it. Tried using my regular glow rods for like 45 minutes and kept hitting something solid. Finally pulled out my fish tape with the magnetic head and got through in 30 seconds. Has anyone else dealt with weird ceiling materials that just eat up your time?

Yeah, have you tried using a super bright headlamp instead of the little light on your tape? I had a similar mess with old drop ceiling tiles and just switching to a better light showed me exactly where the wires were snagging on all those rusty staples. Made a huge difference.

You ever notice how the stuff that looks like it was built to save time ends up costing you the most time? That acoustic tile stuff is a nightmare, everyone I know who deals with old houses hates it. The plaster behind it is usually full of random nails and debris too. It's like the person who put it up was in a hurry 50 years ago, and now we're all paying for it.
