Just hit my 50th shutter repair this year and it hit me differently
I've been keeping a tally for 2024 mostly out of habit but when I got to 50 on a beat up Canon AE-1 yesterday I actually stopped and looked at my notes. Didnt expect to feel kinda proud about something so niche. How many repairs do you guys average in a year?

Do you keep a log too? I think the tally is what makes it hit harder than just doing the work blind. Honestly, hitting 50 is a solid flex for a niche skill.

Aren't those little milestones the weirdest thing to catch you off guard? Ive done enough of these to know the AE-1 can be a real pain with the shutter magnet issue, but once you get the hang of cleaning those contacts it becomes almost routine. What I found helps is keeping a little log of each repair with the specific problem and solution, really cuts down on repeat work and makes hitting those numbers feel earned.
