Rant: The guy who brought in a camera full of sand from a beach in Florida
He opened the bag on my bench and said, 'I think the zoom is stuck.' It was a Nikon D3500, and I had to shake out about a cup of fine white sand before I could even see the lens mount. What's the strangest thing you've ever had to clean out of a camera body?

A whole ant colony in the viewfinder is a whole new level of nightmare fuel.

Found a whole colony of ants living in the viewfinder of an old film camera once. They had built a nest out of tiny bits of debris and it was a total mess. Took forever to get all the eggs and little bits out without hurting the camera.

That's honestly kind of amazing they picked that spot. Nature finds a way into the weirdest little spaces. I can't even imagine the patience it took to clean all that out without wrecking the glass or the mechanisms. Makes me wonder what they were using for building material, like tiny specks of dust and who knows what else. Total respect for saving the camera though, that's a serious labor of love right there.
