Can we talk about how I thought asking for informational interviews was a waste of time?
Back in 2019 I was working retail in Columbus and thought asking people to just chat about their jobs was pointless networking fluff. Then a regular customer who ran a small print shop let me buy him coffee, and during that 40 minute talk he told me exactly which software to learn first. Six months later that one coffee turned into a part time gig doing his invoices, and it snowballed from there. Now I still feel weird reaching out cold, but I do it anyway. Has anyone else had one of those low key chats actually lead somewhere?
