Picked a smaller firm over a big corporate offer in Portland last spring

I had two offers back in May, one from a huge Fortune 500 company and another from a 15 person marketing firm here in Portland. I went with the small firm because they let me work on strategy from day one instead of just handling spreadsheets (which is what the big job wanted). It's been about 4 months now and I've already led two campaigns from start to finish, plus I get to sit in on client meetings. The pay is about $8k less than the corporate offer, but I'm learning way more hands on stuff. Has anyone else taken a pay cut for a better learning experience and regretted it or been happy?

Funny how the stuff you actually learn always pays off more than the paycheck.

Learned more from failing at my own thing @charlie_allen than any job ever taught me.
