Quit my job for a certification, actually paid off
Everyone told me not to leave my $52k office gig in Cleveland for a 6 month cloud cert program. Passed the AWS exam last Tuesday and got two offers within a week. Has anyone else taken a risky break like that and had it work out?

My big risky career move was once switching from regular Coke to Coke Zero and I still think about it. For real though, dropping a steady check for a cert takes guts and it sounds like the cloud field is still hungry for people. Six months of stress for two offers sounds like a pretty good trade.
