Hit 500 board feet of oak in a single job... that a lot or normal?
I just finished a custom library build in a house over by Greenville and used 500 board feet of red oak for shelving and face frames. Some guys tell me that's a big milestone for a solo operation, but others say that's just a Tuesday for a crew of three. What's the most you've pushed through in one stretch before your body started to break down on you?

Ngl, I gotta ask though - was that 500 board feet all off your own rig, or did you have a helper feeding you material? Because that's the real test. A solo guy pushing 500 through a planer and jointer by himself is a whole different animal than having someone staging the next piece while you're running the machine. I've done 300 in a day by myself and by the end my arms were shot, not to mention my back. So if you did that whole 500 solo, that's legit. But if you had a crew of any kind helping move the wood around, then finleycooper's got a point.

Man I feel you on that. 500 solo is no joke, especially if you're running it all through the planer and jointer yourself. Your back must have been screaming by the end of that day.
