My first time trying to cut crown molding by myself was a total disaster.

I used to just hold it against the saw and guess the angles, which gave me a pile of scrap wood and a sore back. After watching a video from a guy in Austin, I built a simple jig from scrap plywood and now my cuts fit perfectly every time. Anyone have a favorite jig design for tricky trim work?

Always guessed too, but jigs are a game changer.

They're more like a safety net than a crystal ball, but they definitely help.

Wish I'd learned that trick years ago.
