Saw a job in Denver last week where the homeowner bought carpet from a big box store and it was cut 6 inches short on one edge

I was doing a stretch-in for a client in Arvada last Thursday and their neighbor asked me to look at a roll they picked up from a warehouse club. The pattern didn't line up and the roll was clearly mislabeled when I measured it out. Has anyone else run into homeowners buying their own material that ends up being the wrong size?

I just think the prep work is pretty straightforward if you take your time with it.
