Changed my mind about those cheap plastic drop cloths
I always bought the thin ones from the hardware store because they were only about $5. After a job in Tacoma where soot soaked right through and stained a white carpet, I switched to the heavy canvas ones. The extra $15 is totally worth not having that conversation with a client again. Anyone have a good source for them that doesn't break the bank?

Oh man, that's rough about the carpet. I saw a post a while back where a painter said the same thing, that the thin plastic ones are basically only good for keeping dust off your tools. They said once any kind of liquid or fine powder is involved, it's a total gamble. The canvas ones are a game changer for sure, way more peace of mind. I've heard some of the bigger box stores have the heavy duty ones for a decent price if you buy a few at a time.

My buddy in Phoenix swears by the cheap plastic ones for quick jobs, @wright.taylor. He says the canvas ones are overkill unless you're doing a full room.
