I was cleaning a flue in an old Charleston house and found a perfectly intact 1942 newspaper.
Now I always check the damper first, because that paper had been blocking airflow for decades, right? Has anyone else found something that wild that actually explained a draft issue?

Used to think drafts were just bad seals. Found a kid's toy car jammed in a vent once, totally fixed the problem.

That's the best kind of fix. It's always the weird, simple stuff you'd never guess. Saves you a ton of money and hassle too.

Yeah, heard a story like that where a bird's nest was the culprit. Totally get what @kevinc84 means about the simple fixes.
