For west side houses with brick exteriors, do you think painted brick looks better or keeping it natural? I've seen both in our neighborhood and can't decide.

I looked at two houses in Kamms Corners last month, one with original red brick and one painted a clean white, and I keep going back and forth on which actually holds up better long term around here - anyone else have experience with either choice on their own house?

Oh man, it's wild how this decision kinda mirrors a bigger thing I've noticed around here lately. Like, people are either trying to bring back that old school classic look or they're chasing something fresh and modern. I walked through a block in Old Brooklyn the other day and saw three brick houses in a row - two painted different shades of gray and one still showing its original brownish red. The painted ones looked sharp from the curb but up close you could see the paint starting to peel near the windows, while the natural one just had this worn in character. It feels like the whole neighborhood is caught between wanting to fit in with the new builds and holding onto what made these houses special in the first place.

Tough call, I've been stuck on the same decision for months now.
