The West Side Market isn't always the best deal for produce
I know everyone loves the West Side Market, and I do too for certain things. But last month I compared prices on bell peppers and tomatoes between the Market and the Gordon Square Dave's. The Market was nearly 30 cents more per pound. I still go for the experience and the meat counter, but I've started buying my basic veggies at the grocery store. Has anyone else noticed a price difference like this?

My friend tried to save money there and ended up paying way more for a bag of apples.

Was your friend not paying attention at checkout, or did the store add fees after the fact? I'm trying to figure out if it was a pricing mistake or if that place just has weird fees. @harper_owens I've seen stores slap on a "bag fee" or a "service charge" that adds up fast, especially if you're buying loose items. Did they ring it up as organic apples when they were regular ones? Something similar happened to me once where the price on the shelf didn't match what came up at the register.
