PSA: My town's recycling center started charging $8 a load last month and people are just dumping stuff on the curb instead
Drove past three mattresses and a busted TV on Route 9 in the same mile yesterday, all because folks don't want to pay the new fee. Anyone else seeing this where you live, or is it just my area?

Eight bucks a load is nothing compared to what my cheap self has paid in shame. I once drove a broken mini fridge around for two weeks because I refused to pay the $15 dump fee, and it sat in my trunk through a heat wave. It smelled like old lunch meat and regret by the time I caved. So yeah, I get why people dump stuff, but my strategy was just driving around smelling bad, which is way worse than the mattress pile on Route 9.
